The most common question we get on a first phone call is why a deep clean costs more than a regular clean. The honest answer is that they are two different jobs, not two price tiers of the same job.
A regular cleaning maintains a home that is already at a good baseline. We work a set checklist: kitchen counters, sink, appliance exteriors, and backsplash; bathrooms including toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and fixtures; dusting of surfaces, sills, and light fixtures; vacuuming and mopping every floor; and trash out with fresh liners. On a home that gets cleaned every week or two, that is genuinely enough.
A deep cleaning is what gets a home to that baseline in the first place. It covers everything above and then goes into the places a routine visit never reaches — inside the oven, refrigerator, and microwave; inside cabinets and drawers; grout lines in kitchens and bathrooms; baseboards, door frames, switch plates, and vents; behind and underneath furniture that moves; hard water and soap scum on glass and fixtures; and interior windows including the sills and tracks.
That is why we recommend almost every new client start with a deep clean. If we come into a home that has not had professional attention in a year and run a regular checklist, the result looks fine at eye level and still has a year of buildup in the grout, the vents, and the appliance interiors. Starting with a deep clean means every visit after it is genuinely maintaining a clean house rather than slowly catching up on one.
Once the deep clean is done, most homes stay in good shape on a weekly or bi-weekly regular plan, which costs meaningfully less per visit. Some clients add a seasonal deep clean once or twice a year — usually spring, and again before the holidays.
